French Liver
6 slices beef liver
		
2 large onions
		
1/2 cup butter
		
1/2 cup dry red wine
			
1/2 cup chopped parsley
	
Fresh ground pepper
1/2 cup water
1 bay leaf, crumbled
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup flour
Cut onions in 1/2" slices and arrange in baking dish.  Dot with butter.  Add wine, parsley, bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper, and 1/2 cup water.  Cover tightly and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.  Sprinkle liver with flour, and top with onions.  Cover and bake 30 minutes more, basting 1-2 times.  Remove cover and bake 10 minutes longer.  Comes out tender and moist.  Serves 4-6.
